Who We Want
We are seeking a Payroll specialist who will assist with administering bi-weekly payroll functions and collaborating with the Human Resources function. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of payroll and efficiency in benefit calculations, managing the operational processes for onboarding new employees, and computing severance packages. The Payroll Specialist role will support the Finance and Human Resources departments and ensure employee payments, data, and files are accurate and in compliance with internal policies and government regulations
What You’ll Do
- Lead and execute with the administration of bi-weekly payroll for employees.
- Accurately calculate savings fund contributions for employees, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulations.
- Efficiently manage the meal voucher program, ensuring proper distribution and compliance with employee benefits.
- Oversee the calculation and proper allocation of vacation bonuses, ensuring alignment with company policies and current labor laws.
- Precisely and timely compute severance and settlement calculations, ensuring compliance with legal and contractual obligations.
- Lead the end-to-end payroll process for new hires, from document collection to the seamless integration of employees into the company system and work environment.
- Ensure the accurate and up-to-date registration of all employee information within the BUK portal and Workday, maintaining the confidentiality and security of data.
- Track the template of the movements with the information of each employee with hires, terminations, and modifications as appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and government regulations regarding payroll (Changes in Labor, Tax, or Social Security Law.)
- Collaborate with external providers to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of benefits programs and compliance with Mexican laws (IMSS, INFONAVIT, INM, etc.).
- Supervise and process employee requests for absences, leaves, and vacations.
- Review and process bonus and commissions payouts.
- Conduct periodic payroll audits to identify potential errors and ensure accuracy.
- Implement effective internal controls to mitigate payroll-related risks.
- Identify continuous opportunities to improve payroll processes and human resources operations.
- Collaborate with other departments to implement solutions that optimize efficiency and service quality.
- Creates and maintains personnel files for employees by reviewing, scanning, and entering information from employment documents for inclusion in personnel files.
- Assist and resolve employee inquiries related to payroll and benefits.
- Uphold strict confidentiality in dealing with sensitive information, including personnel matters, legal documents, financial data, contracts, and other proprietary information.
- Contribute to other Human Resources and Finance projects and initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of Payroll, Human Resources, or Administrative related experience.
- Knowledge of labor and social security laws and regulations related to payroll and benefits.
- Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create complex spreadsheets, formulas, and data analysis.
- Payroll processing software experience preferred or aptitude to learn new software products quickly.
- Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with individuals at various organizational levels.
- High professionalism, integrity, and discretion when handling sensitive financial information.
