Nikki Stiegal – Illinois State University 2018

The Arrive team is made up of team members from a variety of universities across the country. We sat down with Nikki Stiegal, Carrier Sales Representative at Arrive, to learn more about her role and how she found Arrive while attending Illinois State University.

Where did you go to school and how did you first hear about Arrive?

I went to school at Illinois State University and graduated with my degree in Sociology in December 2018. I was involved in Greek life during college which is where I first heard about Arrive. Several of my friends talked positively about Arrive, so I decided to check out the company. I applied online and then started at Arrive a few weeks after I graduated.

What’s your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part of being a Carrier Sales Representative at Arrive is being able to talk to the same people every day, both internally with my coworkers and externally with my carriers. I enjoy talking to them every day and being able to build strong relationships over time.

What keeps you at Arrive?

The competitive atmosphere and the people I work with are what keep me at Arrive. The sales floor here is very money motivating and competitive, which I love being a part of. The people I work with also play a huge part in why I love Arrive. Everyone is very supportive and constantly cheering on one another.

Have any advice for soon-to-be college grads?

My biggest piece of advice for soon-to-be college graduates is to be open to any and all opportunities. I majored in Sociology and ended up with a career in sales, so you never know what could be in store for you!

If you could go back in time and tell your college self one thing, what would it be?

I would tell my college self not to worry so much. I used to stress about the next steps after college and being successful, but it will all come as time goes on.

For someone about to start a career in logistics, what would you tell them?

If you’re about to start a career in logistics, be sure to come in as motivated as you can be. Sales in the logistics industry is fast-paced and competitive, so it’s important to be eager and ready to go right away so you can start off as strong as possible.
