We sat down with Indiana University graduate, Jay Rosati, to talk about his experience at Arrive Logistics as a Carrier Sales Representative. Hear about what Jay has to say about the culture at Arrive and advice he has for soon-to-be college graduates.
Where did you go to school and what did you study?
I graduated from Indiana University and majored in Business Management. I minored in the study of business, Spanish and marketing. I have very extensive knowledge of Spanish, but I have lost some of my fluency over the years from not using it as much.
How did you first hear about Arrive?
I first heard about Arrive Logistics at a pop-up job fair at The O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs at my university. I went and talked to a few of the Arrive recruiters, had a prescreening and then went through the interview. On the day of my interview, I walked in and thought this was it, this was the place for me. The culture immediately hit me and I could feel the energy in the building.
What’s your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of the job is relationship building. It’s really cool to build relationships with so many people, whether it be customers, my coworkers, etc. Initially, it’s hard when you get started and have to find partners for your book of business, but Arrive really sets you up for success. I like the personal aspect of talking to people and building relationships every day. I’m a talker, so it comes naturally.
What keeps you at Arrive?
Arrive is always pushing you to be a better sales rep. Whether that be through your manager, the all-hands meetings or carrier portals, Arrive is constantly making it easy for you to be successful. The coworkers are always there for you. It’s a big camaraderie, and it feels like a giant team. The technology at Arrive is amazing and makes working as a rep so easy. It is a real family here.
Have any advice for soon-to-be college grads?
I was on a bike team, so I was always around people that were younger than me. I would always tell them that the possibilities are endless with what you want to do. You’re in control of what you do each day, so make sure it’s worth your time.
If you could go back in time and tell your college self one thing, what would it be?
I’m someone who has a no regrets attitude and it’s made me into the person I am today. As long as you put your best effort forward and you truly believe it’s your best effort, you can’t go wrong.
For someone about to start a career in logistics, what would you tell them?
If you enjoy conversing with people on a daily basis, this job is a perfect fit for you. If you’re a talker and enjoy meeting new people and building new relationships, like me, then Arrive is a great company to work for. Logistics is an industry where you’re your own boss, in that aspect, you control what happens. It’s not a normal 9-5. It’s 24 hours, you’re always on the go. This is the kind of job that has amazing opportunities if you put in the work. You get what you put into it.
