Spencer Caskey – Indiana University 2016
Where did you go to school?
I went to school at Indiana University where I studied Environmental Management at SPEA (School of Public and Environmental Affairs). My degree focused on public affairs, with a mix of policy and function relating to finite resource management. I was in a fraternity, but I definitely spent a good amount of time with friends outside of the frat. I enjoyed my time at IU, and was eager to apply my specialized SPEA degree within the world of business.
How did you find Arrive?
At IU, I spent time exploring my options at career fairs. I have a creative, talkative nature and I needed a job that would play to those strengths. I knew a few of my friends worked in logistics so I thought that would be a good place to start looking for a job. I found Arrive as I was looking at LinkedIn job postings in Austin and Chicago. I pursued it out of need for a job, and also because it was a young, small company that I thought would grow. I knew I wanted to be a part of the growth.
What keeps you here?
I love being part of the Arrive family, first and foremost. Secondly, my ability to commit stems from my desire for personal growth. Before graduation, I had a choice between a job at Continental Tire NA or Arrive. I chose Arrive because I recognized more stability and opportunity at a smaller company. I also saw a better way to build stronger relationships and leverage personal connections. Arrive gives me the opportunity to use my creative, entrepreneurial skill set to build my book of business, which is the key to my personal growth and development as a professional.
