At Arrive Logistics, our team is made up of talented individuals who come from a variety of schools throughout the country. We sat down with Sarah Robertson, a Business Development Representative based out of our Austin headquarters, to learn more about how her experience at Texas Tech University led to beginning her career at Arrive.
Where did you go to school and what did you study?
I attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX, and received my Bachelor of Arts degree in political science with a minor in biology. During college, I was involved in greek life, student government and was a tour guide for the University.
How did you first hear about Arrive?
I first heard about Arrive on LinkedIn after seeing a post about a connection accepting a position in the Austin office. I was born and raised in Austin and was looking for a great opportunity back in my hometown. I first applied to an internship thinking that because I was a new grad this was the only way in, but the lovely recruiting team directed me towards a full-time, entry-level position.
How did you become interested in going into the logistics industry?
I was interested in taking my past customer service experience and transferring that into a career in sales. Once I was first introduced to the logistics industry, I learned so much from the get-go and I loved the idea of making my own money and having uncapped earning potential.
What’s your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part about my job is the people I work with here at Arrive. There are so many talented and experienced people here to learn from who are always helping me develop my skills. I also love the fast-paced environment, you will never be bored at Arrive.
What keeps you at Arrive?
I enjoy growing relationships with my customers and being able to be the one they can count on for help. Developing those relationships over time allows me to continue growing my accounts and earning money, and it’s great to see all of that gradually play out.
Have any advice for soon-to-be college grads?
Enjoy all of the last college moments with your best friends! Life after college is an adjustment, but it is rewarding to put your degree to work! Be confident and trust that things will work out.
If you could go back in time and tell your college self one thing, what would it be?
I would tell myself to enjoy living close to my best friends and don’t sweat the small stuff. Trust that everything happens for a reason.
For someone about to start a career in sales and logistics, what would you tell them?
Be prepared to learn a TON in the very beginning and hit the ground running. Stay organized, ask as many questions as you can and learn from everyone around you.
