Our talented team at Arrive Logistics is made up of individuals who come from a variety of outstanding schools. We sat down with Sarah Roessler, Business Development Representative, to learn more about how she found Arrive and why she loves being part of the team.
Where did you go to school and what did you study?
I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in May of 2021. I studied Corporate Communication with a minor in Business and a certificate in German.
How did you first hear about Arrive?
I first heard about Arrive during my senior year of college in a sales class. We had an assignment to research sales opportunities in Austin and bring a job posting to discuss in class, and I chose a job posting for a BizDev position at Arrive. A few months later when I was starting my job hunt, I found the posting from Arrive again and sent in my application the next day!
How did you become interested in going into sales and logistics?
I became interested in sales after taking a few sales classes in college. I knew I wanted a career where I could work with clients to solve their problems and form a partnership, and my classes emphasized the importance of building relationships that served both sides of the partnership. I realized that Arrive would give me the opportunity to develop these relationships in a fast-paced and exciting environment!
What’s your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of working as a BizDev rep is having the freedom to set my own path. I get to choose the accounts and verticals I want to go after and have the flexibility to pursue the opportunities that are most exciting to me.
What keeps you at Arrive?
My team keeps me at Arrive! I have received great support from my managers and advice from the more experienced reps on my team. Our team does an awesome job at keeping the work fun when things get tough.
Have any advice for soon-to-be college grads?
Don’t be afraid to take a chance on a job/career that you aren’t familiar with. There’s an enormous amount of opportunity if you’re willing to learn something new and lean on the experts around you!
For someone about to start a career in sales and logistics, what would you tell them?
I would tell someone who is about to start a career in sales and logistics to come in with goals for their career. Whether it’s a quantitative sales goal or something related to personal and professional development, having a goal will help a new grad stay motivated and focused on what they want out of their time at work.
