Arrive Logistics is proud to announce it’s been named one of the “Top Companies for Women to Work For in Transportation” by the Women in Trucking (WIT) Association for a second year.

WIT created the award to encourage the employment of women in the trucking industry, promote their accomplishments, and minimize obstacles faced by women working in the industry.

Arrive is committed to doing just that.

Arrive fosters a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion by investing in initiatives that encourage understanding and connection among team members. One way Arrive supports DEI practices is through its Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). One of which is its “Arrive Women in Logistics” (AWIL) group, which aims to foster a climate of inclusion and empowerment for women in the logistics industry. This ERG serves as a resource, provides development opportunities, and creates a sense of belonging for all women at Arrive while encouraging personal and professional growth.

“Visibility and representation are so important for diversifying the logistics industry, and the ERGs are specifically designed to foster climates of connection and support,” said Lauren Mach, Director of Training and Development and AWIL ERG Lead at Arrive Logistics.

This year, Lauren Mach, Arrive’s Director of Training and Development and AWIL ERG Lead was selected by the Women in Trucking organization to speak on its “Getting it Right: Employee Resource Groups” panel during the 2023  Accelerate! Conference & Expo located in Dallas, Texas. Mach and other women executives from leading transportation companies shared more about how ERG networks for women can help create a positive, productive culture for women in an industry traditionally dominated by men.

Read below for some of Lauren’s key takeaways she’s planning to help implement here at Arrive:

  • ERGs have increasingly become more structured, with dedicated leadership and operational frameworks, missions, and defined strategies over the past few years. It’s important to keep your members engaged and develop strategies that can support the companies’ DEI efforts.
  • It is crucial that the chosen ERG leadership has a strong passion for the cause, as the role requires a significant amount of time and dedication. Moreover, these leaders play a pivotal role in driving change within the company. To ensure accountability and prevent burnout, it is essential to have a proper structure in place and delegate responsibilities between active members.
  • ERGs need to learn to evolve in order to cater to the needs of their members. ERG leaders should collaborate with their members and executive sponsors to set objectives that align with the group’s mission and the organization’s goals. The ERG should regularly assess and adjust these targets to maintain its focus and significance and deliver results.
