The people at Arrive Logistics are what make our company a truly special place to be. We sat down with Duke Begy, EVP of Business Development, to learn more about his role at Arrive and what he enjoys doing outside of the office.
Tell us about yourself and your role.
In my current role, I lead Business Development at Arrive HQ in Austin, TX. I’ve been with Arrive since the very beginning and have supported our tremendous growth over the past seven years. I’m originally from Chicago and graduated from Miami University with a B.S. in finance. Currently, I live in southwest Austin with my beautiful wife Claire, my newborn son Dax and our two energetic golden retrievers.
How did you find Arrive?
After graduating from college, I spent seven years working at another freight brokerage in Chicago where I met Matt Pyatt and Eric Dunigan, co-founders of Arrive Logistics. Shortly after leaving my original employer in Chicago, I reconnected with Matt and Eric and they offered me the opportunity to help start Arrive in Austin. Given their previous success, I knew we could build something special.
What does your role entail?
Every day I work closely with BizDev leaders to transform Arrive into an industry-leading freight brokerage. We are constantly challenging ourselves to become better each day. Whether it’s engaging and coaching with our younger employees, hosting continued education classes or fine-tuning our sales strategy, we are always pushing to grow the business and the Arrive brand. We are never satisfied with our accomplishments or success and that is what makes Arrive great.
What do you do outside of work?
My wife and I just welcomed our new son, Dax, into our lives. Becoming a father is a blessing, and I spend as much time as I can with him outside of work. Also, as a former college wrestler, I enjoy working out and staying active. I’m not ready for a dad bod yet!
How would you like to see Arrive and yourself grow?
Our goal at Arrive is to become one of the top five largest freight brokers in the industry. We will continue to expand our service offerings and develop world-class technology. The best days of Arrive are still in front of us. I’m excited for the next chapter in our journey.
