Our team at Arrive Logistics is what makes our organization an amazing place to work. We sat down with EJ Niedzielski, Training Team Lead on the Talent Management Team, to learn more about his role at Arrive and why he loves being a part of the team.

What is your role at Arrive?

I started at Arrive in January 2019 as an entry-level sales rep. I then transitioned to a business development rep and later a permanent operations specialist. However, I had such a phenomenal experience going through training myself, I knew from the start that I had to get back in the classroom. I talked to as many people as possible about my interest and finally got the opportunity to become a training specialist, and now the Training Team Lead. In this role, I manage the trainers in all of our offices, and I am also in charge of content development and content feedback for the training program. My team handles onboarding and training for our entry-level sales cohorts, along with most roles in the company including executives and members of our support services teams. We also oversee other fun things here like our Freight Veteran “Ask Me Anything” events and extended learning.

How did you find Arrive?

Before joining Arrive, I used to be a banker. John Thomas (JT), Carrier Associate Manager, came into my branch one day to open an account. I was making small talk with him and asked where he worked. He started telling me about Arrive and how great it is. I honestly found myself just listening super intently, having fully dropped working on his account opening. Everything he was saying sounded like no job I had ever heard of.  After talking to him, I knew I needed to work at Arrive. He sent me a link to the job openings, and the rest is history!

What about the training experience drew you back?

For me, everything goes back to the fact that I’m driven by connecting with people. I enjoy making those I interact with feel welcome and empowered. I personally felt so excited when I was in training and so empowered by my trainers, Lauren Asbury and Joe Sandoval. I knew getting back in the environment of the classroom would allow me to give new hires that same welcoming, exciting and empowering experience on a daily basis.

What keeps you at Arrive?

I’ll never forget walking into Arrive for the very first time, back in our old Oak Hill office. When you walk through those doors, you’re immediately hit with this electricity. You see these young, energized reps on the floor and you hear everyone talking, laughing and getting stuff done.  It’s exhilarating, motivating and unlike any other work environment I’ve ever been a part of. I’ve also made so many close friends here. Arrive’s culture is so awesome that even without my personal connections here, I would still love working here. The fact that our culture and work environment has stood the test of time throughout Arrive’s years of immense growth is a testament to the great foundation that our founders Matt and Eric created back in 2014.

What advice would you give someone joining the industry?

It’s important to check in with yourself and give yourself time throughout the day to decompress. If that means taking a quick walk around the building, or whatever, go for it. Finding that balance between work and self-care will make you better at your job. The biggest advice I would give is to focus on yourself and not interpret other people’s success as your own lack of success. It’s easy to see someone next to you crushing it and feel like that means you’re not up to par. Try to stay out of your head, don’t give up on yourself and keep your eyes on your own growth. If you can live out the LFG mentality every day, then you will do amazing here. I want to see everyone find that success.
