Since 1973, Trident Seafoods has been fishing Alaskan waters with a commitment to sustainability, innovation and quality that has helped it become the largest seafood company in the United States.
From frozen wild-caught salmon to breaded ready-to-cook favorites, Trident’s product line is second to none — and its transportation operation sets the same standard. The company’s supply chain supports a vast network of retail and commercial customers, requiring Logistics Manager Sean Davies and his team to deliver with the utmost precision and consistency.
“Sourcing from our vessels in Alaska and shipping across the Lower 48 creates a number of logistical complexities,” Davies said. “We’re moving fresh and frozen fish through multiple production facilities to create a wide range of products, which demands a strong network of temperature-controlled and dry van carriers who can meet our standards and those of our customers.”
When Davies joined the Trident team in early 2020, he set out to modernize the company’s transportation operation.
“When I came on board, we were still faxing order sheets, printing emails and storing rates in binders,” he said. “So, we started getting back up to speed by rolling out a modern transportation management system (TMS), and establishing best practices like using tiered routing guides and setting an annual RFP cadence.”
That work also included reassessing existing carrier relationships.
Galer, senior vice president of strategic partners at Arrive, was excited to get the call.
“Sean and I developed a great relationship during our time working together at Darigold, and Arrive has a strong track record supporting companies going through operational overhauls,” he said. “We were also familiar with their new TMS and had a carrier network that could deliver on the high service expectations Sean set, which helped us hit the ground running right out of the gate.”
Arrive Enterprise Partnership Representative Matt McInerney has been leading daily operations with Trident since 2021. Working closely with the company’s domestic logistics manager, Chandra Stachowiak, he’s developed a deep understanding of the company’s network and what it takes to drive meaningful value.
Stachowiak, a 25-year veteran at Trident, values McInerney’s commitment to balancing the best of modern technology to drive efficiency with taking time to build relationships the old-fashioned way.
Davies added, “In my role, I focus on rates, routing guides, financials and other backend work. Matt’s ability to partner effectively with Chandra on day-to-day operations lets me stay focused on those big-picture priorities instead of troubleshooting single lanes, and that’s invaluable.”
As Trident has grown over the years, so too has its freight volume — and the scale of support Arrive provides.
“Working with so many major retailers means there’s no margin for error,” Stachowiak said. “Matt and the team overcommunicate, flag issues early and keep us ahead of scheduling. Plus, they’ve always been willing to add more hands to the account when we need them without missing a beat.”
McInerney’s flexibility and execution excellence are backed by Galer’s strategic oversight. With experience at major shippers like Starbucks, Amazon and Darigold, he brings unique experience and insight to the partnership.
From his side, Galer expressed that a mutual commitment to executing the fundamentals has been a key pillar of the partnership. “From aligning on expectations to communicating well and choosing the right carriers, so much of our shared success with Trident comes down to doing the simple things right,” he said. “That’s what builds trust and gets results.”

This commitment to excellence in relationships, service and execution delivered results that earned Arrive back-to-back Broker of the Year awards from Trident in 2024 and 2025.
“We evaluate our carriers using standard metrics like volume, on-time delivery and tender acceptance, but we also listen to feedback from Chandra and our planners, because the intangibles matter just as much,” Davies said. “Ultimately, we value partners who are reliable and easy to work with, especially when things get tough, and Arrive really stood out on both quantitative and qualitative measures.”
McInerney made clear that credit for the honor extends far beyond him and Galer. “Logistics is truly a team sport. While Aaron and I are the main points of contact, we have dedicated teams across the business working hard to deliver for Trident day in and day out — and every one of them played a critical role in earning this award.”
At its core, the Trident-Arrive partnership proves that success isn’t just about KPIs or cost savings — it’s about people, trust and shared commitment to getting the fundamentals right.
“What I appreciate most about Trident is how real and grounded they are as people,” said McInerney. “From Sean and Chandra to everyone we work with across the business, they feel as much like friends as they do customers, and that makes the work all the more meaningful.”
