At Arrive Logistics, we’re committed to making business decisions while keeping our environment in mind. It’s our responsibility to our partners, employees and especially our planet, to ensure we implement sustainable practices wherever and whenever possible. In honor of Earth Day, here are a few ways we stay green.
Our Austin headquarters was designed to encourage employees to practice a sustainable lifestyle while at the office. Water fountains placed throughout the office are equipped with counters that show how many plastic bottles have been saved – currently showing more than 89,000! All lighting installed throughout the facility utilizes LED bulbs and is equipped with sensors to ensure energy is only being used as necessary. All soap dispensers, water faucets and tissue paper are also sensor or battery-powered to limit waste. Additionally, our smart thermostats manage increased ventilation, allowing us to receive fresh air on two-hour cycles. In an effort to reduce additional pollutants such as carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide that otherwise would be released into the environment, we also utilize a natural gas powered generator.
Since 2016, Arrive Logistics has been a SmartWay partner, the EPA’s voluntary public-private program that helps companies advance supply chain sustainability by measuring, benchmarking and improving freight transportation efficiency. As a SmartWay partner, we measure year-over-year results, set goals and improve performance on key air quality and fuel efficiency metrics related to corporate supply chain freight transportation. The credible efficiency tracking and emissions accounting ensure our tracking efforts are consistent with industry best practices.
As a freight broker, we work with a variety of shipping and carrier partners every day. One way we support our green business model is by prioritizing carriers who have stricter emission standards and smaller carbon footprints. We utilize proprietary technology to develop and keep carriers in our network and use load matching technology to reduce empty miles, eliminating 850 metric tons of CO₂ from empty miles per month. Paperless invoicing and tendering are also implemented for administrative purposes.
This Earth Day, we encourage you to think about (and implement) ways to be more green.
