Arrive is a great place for students to consider an internship or externship. Not only do these opportunities provide current students with hands-on experience, but it gives them the tools they need to be successful for starting out in the industry. This blog is written by two of our previous winter externs, Saven Baker and Noah Winston. Read more about their perspectives on why Arrive is a great place to start a career in logistics.

Why is the logistics industry so attractive/competitive?
The logistics industry is one of the fastest-growing sectors in the country. People are naturally attracted to it because of the enormous opportunity it has for clients, job seekers and people looking to start a business. Every trucking company needs logistical help when it comes to moving freight. Our partners look for affordability and efficiency when it comes to lanes Each one of our reps fights to make sure that our carriers are getting a fair deal.
What can you expect in the externship program?
Arrive offers opportunities for prospective employees, people who are interested in logistics and people who aren’t sure what they want to do next. Arrive has expanded recruitment by creating programs such as the 2020-2021 externship program. In this program, students from all over the country shadowed and participated in daily operations of sales reps. The carrier sales side of business includes managing freight, negotiating terms and prices and building carrier relationships. The business development side includes networking, training and bringing opportunities to the sales floor. This externship is very interactive and all students are given relevant information to help you succeed if you choose to start a career in the logistics industry. Freight fraud continues to impact our industry. We encourage shippers and carriers to reach out to Arrive immediately if there is ever a shipment in question that may be subject to fraud (including fictitious actors and websites). Arrive will not ask you to pay upfront for any dedicated lane or committed capacity program. If the offer you are receiving sounds too good to be true or unrealistic, it may be fraud.
