Who We Want

The Quality Engineer will develop and execute exploratory tests to ensure product quality. Responsibilities for this role include designing and implementing manual tests, debugging and defining corrective actions, reviewing system requirements, and tracking quality assurance metrics (e.g. defect densities and open defect counts). This role plays an important part in our company’s product development process. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for conducting manual tests before product launches to ensure software runs smoothly and meets the company needs while being cost-effective. Ultimately, this role will monitor all stages of software development to identify and resolve system malfunctions to meet quality standards.

What You’ll Do

  • Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
  • Independently analyze, solve, and correct some issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
  • Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases (TestRail)
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan testing activities
  • Have a basic understanding of the automation scripts used by QA Automation for your team
  • Prioritize and customize test cases to facilitate addition to automation suites
  • Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs (Jira)
  • Exhibit ownership of your team’s bugs
  • Identify high-risk changes before they are integrated into the main version
  • Work with a team to ensure stability and basic functionality
  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
  • Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products
  • Liaise with internal & external teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements
  • Deliver feedback and reports to the  team and actively participate in Scrum activities

Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and CI/CD
  • Knowledge of software QA methodologies and processes
  • Proven work experience in software quality assurance
  • Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
  • Some experience with both white box and black box testing
  • Some experience with automated testing strategies
  • Basic knowledge of SQL and scripting
  • Some knowledge of API testing and tools
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
  • Some knowledge with non-functional testing (performance/stress testing/load)
  • 1+ years of work experience in software QA or 2+ years of experience in IT related field
