Arrive Logistics Inc., a third-party logistics startup and one of the fastest growing companies in Austin, plans to move later this summer into a new headquarters.
The Austin-based business has leased 78,000 square feet across two buildings in MetCenter, a 550-acre business park near Austin-Bergstrom International Airport on the east side. Construction is ongoing but executives are hopeful they can relocate in late June or early July.
Arrive is leaving about 30,000 square feet at 4407 Monterey Oaks Blvd. in Southwest Austin. The company employs more than 685 people in total and 461 in Austin. The expanded HQ will have room for more than 1,000 employees.
Arrive Logistics is a third-party logistics brokerage, meaning it connects shipping companies with manufacturers and other businesses that need to move products. Third-party logistics was an $869 billion market in 2017, according to Allied Market Research, and is projected to reach $1.5 trillion billion by 2025, a compounded annual growth rate of 7.1 percent.
Arrive has leased MetCenter 14 and 15, where it will have a large kitchen, break areas, conference and training rooms, a fitness area, a yoga studio and showers.
That’s needed because Arrive has been on a fast track for revenue growth for years, with about $370 million in revenue in 2018. Execs expect to surpass $600 million this year; its revenue growth earned it a spot on Austin Business Journal’s 2018 Fast 50 list. By the end of the year, Arrive Logistics expects to employ about 1,000 people; the offices outside Austin are in Chicago and Chattanooga, Tennessee. In Austin now there are 22 job openings advertised.
Case McCoy with HPI Real Estate Services & Investments represented Arrive Logistics in the MetCenter lease, which was signed in June 2018. That would make it one of the largest leases of last year, according to research by Aquila Commercial.
Arrive expanded its leadership team earlier this year with the hires of Richard Shields as chief financial officer and Michael Senftleber as executive vice president of product. Shields previously spent nearly three years as CFO of Yeti Coolers and Senftleber previously led the product team at software maker Spredfast.
